My Old Excuses For Not Attending Church

Part One:

The Church is filled with hypocrites. They go to church on Sunday; sing some hymns, drop some cash in the collection plate, pretend to listen to a sermon, and occasionally belt out an AMEN! Then, they go about their way the rest of the week, doing whatever it takes to get ahead just like everybody else. They talk, act, and do things that are no different from atheists, so what’s the point of going to Church?

I’m not required to attend Church in order to believe in God. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that I must attend a Church in order to go to Heaven.

I don’t have time for Church. After working all week I need some “down time”. And besides that, I have yard work and chores that have to be done.

I feel closer to God when I’m alone. Out on the lake or in the woods is a better place than Church to be with God.

I’m not sure God exists anyway. With all the scientific evidence out there, the Bible just does not make sense. It seems foolish, even impossible for me to believe that our universe could only be 6,000 years old.

I had more, but those were my top five excuses. The real reason I didn’t go to church was because I followed man instead of God.
