Becoming a Christian is exciting and a new beginning.
The title of a song by The Beatles, “I’m So Tired” describes my current condition. Life sometimes has a way of stacking up on me. I try to stay busy and seldom have very much “downtime”. And, honestly, downtime is too soft of a word; it’s more like a crash. Maybe that’s my problem, I need more downtime in order to avoid a crash? On the other hand, current events and holidays have a strong influence on everyone’s state of mind and my old mind is no different. In fact, another line of that song includes the phrase “my mind is on the blink”.
If Blink is the same as muddled, then that lyric also describes the current condition of my brain and I might add rusty. Muddled and rusty are not words you really want to hear when talking about your brain. Am I making any sense? I don’t know because my mind is on the blink.
I lean heavily on Phillipians 1:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me”.
It’s VERY true that Christ has done what can only be described as miracles in my life. I am a Christian, have a wonderful family, and also a supportive church family. Another verse to the song “I’m so tired is”: “I wonder should I get up and pour myself a drink? But it’s quickly followed by “No, No, No!” and that’s the best response to a question like that.
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths. “
. For Christians, the correct response to all the curves, obstacles, and surprises that life puts before us should be prayer. Prayer is the most powerful weapon we have, but God is not our own personal genie and many times we can’t understand why He does not do what we ask of Him. Many people say to me that God never answers their prayers so why should they believe in him?
Isiah 59: 1-2 says: “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear. 2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.” This tells me that God will hear the prayer of unbelievers that want to believe and be saved. But how or why would he heed the prayer of someone that does not even believe in Him?
I can testify from experience that he does hear and answer prayers from His children when it is His will.
Phillipians 1:13 and Proverbs 3:5-6 are 2 of my favorites. They are so helpful when going through hard times. I’m sorry you’re feeling so tired. Many blessings to you.
Thank you!
