Loving The Ukrainian People

I Support Freedom

I have fallen in love with the Ukrainian people. These beautiful people have tasted freedom and have committed to keeping their freedom until their last drop of blood.

I have never written anything on my blog that was very political. However, this event has touched my heart and I cannot be silent. The Ukrainians remind me of our founding fathers who knew that declaring our independence from King George III was a certain death sentence if not successful. Could I have made that decision? I really don’t know. I do know that when the decision was made, I would fight because I would know that my family would forever live under the iron thumb of a very angry King.

The Ukrainian people realize the same thing. If they lose they will forever live under the iron thumb of an angry Vladamir Putin. We have all gotten a good look at what that would look like. Mr. Putin will stop at nothing to destroy Ukraine and then move on to his next conquest. We have seen this behavior many times in history. Like the Ukrainian people, I would rather fight to the death. It is this fighting spirit that has made me fall in love with the Ukrainians.

Faith And Politics

I have read different statistics but Ukrainians are overwhelmingly Christians. I have read that Russia does not care for Christians and only supports the State sponsered church.

I will not pretend that I understand the politics in Ukraine or Russia. The facts I do know are: Ukraine is a country that just wants to be left alone to enjoy its freedom. The Russian leaders decided to invade them, take away their freedom, and all their resources. Vladamir Putin apparently does not care how many innocent people must die or how much destruction he causes in the process. He thought it would be a cakewalk and the Ukrainians would flee before him like those people that flee before Godzilla in the movies.

Leadership Matters

This is where it all went wrong for him. Mr. Putin stuck a stick into a hornet’s nest. Ukrainian President Zelensky, his parliament, his generals, his army, and every able-bodied man decided they would not turn their beloved country over to a tyrant. Just like our American forefathers and the 13 colony’s meager volunteer army, they are fighting for their freedom.

It would be great if America had leaders today with the strength and conviction of our forefathers or the leaders of Ukraine. I have done everything I can afford to do financially as an individual and more importantly I pray each morning and night for them.

These are my thoughts and my opinions. We are still allowed to have opinions in America, no matter what you may hear on the news. That’s one of the definitions of freedom. Please pray with me for Ukraine. God, bless and please be with Ukraine, Amen.
