Don’t Live In Halloween’s Past

This is Halloween, the time of year we watch scary movies, dress up in costumes, and get candy. It’s trick or treat time, a time for fun and even parties. Halloween will not be the same this year because of the virus for most, but Halloween has not been the same for me the last three years and never will be.

We would have been married 51 years today at 7:30 pm. Liz and I. It was always me and Liz.

Being only 17 at the time, I chose Halloween day to be married, knowing that I wouldn’t forget our anniversary. I had seen what could happen to men who had forgotten their anniversary and I didn’t want that to be me.

I can say that I never forgot our anniversary and Halloween was always an especially wonderful celebration for our family. I will always be thankful for our Halloweens past, grateful for our Halloweens present, and look forward to our Halloweens in the future. I know Liz will be there with us tonight in spirit.

Happy Halloween!!
