Becoming a Christian is exciting and a new beginning.
Yes, the Corona virus is very serious and many people are becoming sick and dying. There is no doubt, Covid19 is a killer and we are in a war, but we are in a war “together”. This title, a funny thing happened on the way to a pandemic is not meant to be funny it’s a way to point out that in times of peril people, especially Americans will come together. We always have and I believe we always will.
Some (including me) wonder if this is God punishing us or if this is the beginning of the end. We can wonder, but only One knows that answer. We have the freedom to think or believe the way we wish. God gave us free will and once upon a time over two hundred years ago we Americans came together for the first time and fought overwhelming odds in order to guarantee that right.
Many times since then Americans have all come together (unified) to fight a common enemy. Now, here we are again in 2020 and although there is bickering, disagreement, and some greed just as there is in all crisis’s, Americans have realized that we are again at war and we are beginning (quickly) to come together Although there will always be some negative Nancy’s out there who will focus on the negative and we will never get everyone to agree, Americans are on the attack…
Businesses are re-tooling to make masks, ventilators, and all types of needed medical supplies, just as we did in WWII. Our government has jumped in with both feet doing what the Governors are asking for. Congress, yes CONGRESS came together and passed the largest relief package in history. All across our country and the world people are volunteering, going to the store for the elderly and helping with the sick. Our first responders, police, and medical professionals never hesitated to go in harms way. Hospitals have set up drive through testing centers and working whatever schedule it takes! The Corps of Engineers are putting up hospitals with thousands of beds almost overnight! Scientists are working around the clock on vaccines and testing kits.
Again, it’s not perfect, war never is, it’s sometimes described as controlled chaos..But, there are places where EVERYONE comes out on their balconies or at their doors each evening at shift change and applauds the medical workers. I know someone who is devoting her time making respirators for medical workers who don’t have one. There were people watching that huge medical ship moving into New York harbor that broke down and cried. They were overwhelmed with emotion and gratitude to know someone cared so much to send such an incredible ship to help them. (It teared me up too)..So, a funny thing did happen on the way to a pandemic, American’s became as one.
So if you want to whine and gripe, point out my mistakes, point out the governments mistakes, or make this political, You can just……don’t. God bless America!
Absolutely wonderful!
Thank you so much Sandra! I watched a a lady talk about seeing that hospital ship coming to help NY and it really got to me. I realized how wonderful America really is.
