Becoming a Christian is exciting and a new beginning.
It’s not hard for me to remember that Jesus is the winner whenever I compete in speed walking. Number one, until recently, I had competed in zero athletic events since 1969. Number two, before Jesus saved my soul one year ago, I couldn’t walk up two flights of stairs. And, number three before the Lord took control of my life, I didn’t want to compete in anything nor did I want to walk up “any” stairs.
I am 67 years old now and have never felt so “alive”. Only Jesus could have done this. No coach, mentor, or spirit guide could have gotten my old, whiney, fat butt out from in front of the TV and back out there!
Jesus changed my life. The old life is gone. The new life is here. Jesus now guides me and he is “the man”. He keeps me going when I want to give up. He leads me through the pain and injuries so I can continue.
So, when things go well, all glory goes to Him. I pray not to win but rather a good outcome for all participants. I am so very happy just to be there and represent God as a Christian.
Jesus is our Lord and savior and he is there when you are ready to change your life too.
The New, Dennis Stanley
